Karma

The idea of Karma came to us from Eastern Religions which believe in Reincarnation.

By the Reincarnation’s theory, we must achieve spiritual perfection. To reach that goal all bad deeds will need to be purified so we will have to enter a new existence as many times as necessary until all karmic debt from past lives are paid.

Rather we believe in Reincarnation or not, the Principle of Karma should remain as a value in our lives and as the New Age’s tendency proposes we should see it as a constant progression of the soul toward a higher level of spiritual knowledge.

In its modern use, Karma is often misinterpreted. It is viewed and understood as some kind of curse of evil type over which we have no power.

The term Karma has too often become synonymous of predestination, fate.

It is crucial to reestablish the proper use of Karma and to understand what it really means.

Karma is not a matter of black and white with the lucky ones in the light and the unlucky ones in the dark.

Certainly Karma is not fatalism.

Laterally, KARMA means Action, means “To Do”; consequently, the Law of Karma should be understood in the sense of the Law of Causes to Effects.

Every action has its consequence. A bad deed will bring suffering. A good action will raise happiness.

The most important factor in understanding Karma is volition.
